Last week, electrical & technical training specialist, Develop Training announced they had been acquired by RelyOn, a global leader in training and competence for high-risk sectors. The acquisition positions Develop to better meet the needs of its existing customer base, while expanding its ability to target new sectors.

Matthew Gray, Interim Managing Director of Develop Training said: “Through this acquisition, we will build on our ability to meet the evolving needs of our customers, elevating the training experience and offering a holistic approach to managing safety across the workplace.  This will be a period of growth, as we integrate into the wider RelyOn group, combining our resources and building a strong foundation for the future.”

RelyOn Develop will continue to deliver the high-quality training they are known for with their experienced and knowledgeable trainers still forming the backbone of the operation. But the business is also dedicated to improving delegate’s experience from upgrades to locations and equipment, to improved pre and post-training delegate support.

RelyOn brings a training portfolio of over 350 courses and an additional 200+ digital learning titles. By combining RelyOn and Develop’s resources it allows the resulting business, to best meet the demand of the industry by providing broader range of courses for all. This has also led to an increased training footprint across the UK with centres in Aberdeen, Brentwood, Derby, Liverpool, Swindon, Teesside and York.

As well as a ground-breaking adaptive learning solution, RelyOn has a suite of applications tailored to safety critical industries and uses a range of simulation tools to enrich the learning experience. RelyOn Develop will be bringing these advanced technologies to our existing customer base.

We’re excited to embark on this journey together, where we’re not only merging two trusted brands—we’re combining decades of expertise, resources, and innovation. It’s more than just a partnership, it’s a promise, to better serve the needs of our customers as we all navigate through this period of global transformation towards clean energy, electrification and digitisation.” Colin Leyden, RelyOn UK Managing Director.

RelyOn Develop shall share further updates on specific initiatives as they unfold. Make sure you follow both businesses on social media to keep up-to-date with the enhancements and improvements that will be introduced throughout 2025.
